Found a Place
FFH. Essential Records, 2000.

Catchy music and strong evangelistic lyrics combined with a passion for the Lord and His ministry describe FFH. FFH (Far From Home) consists of Jeromy Deibler, Jennifer Deibler, Brian Smith and new member, Michael Boggs. Although FFH is promoted as alternative/modern Christian rock, the group has a great appeal to a wide range of age and tastes. FFHs mission when it started over eight years ago was to unite parents and youth through music that communicates a commitment to Christ.

Impressed with FFHs debut album, I Want To Be Like You (Essential, 1998), I was excited to hear the bands latest, Found a Place. Based in Nashville, Tenn., FFH continues its vibrant ministry. On the jacket the group states: Wow, what an incredible ride these past two years have been. Its amazing how the Lord can take four very average undeserving people and use them to further His Kingdom. Thank you, Jesus, for letting us be involved in Your work.

Jeromy Deibler, whose heart for the Lord is evident, wrote the majority of the songs. His lyrics are honest about his walk with the Lord. Some of the cuts are powerful worship songs, and others clearly show his desire for a deeper relationship with Jesus. The message of hope in Christ is clear. Most impressive to me was the letter (including the Sinners Prayer) on the back of the CD cover.

The music is energetic and acoustic; the style is like that of Jars of Clay. I enjoyed the boppy rhythms and the instrumentation, and that I was able to understand the words. Found a Place has a good mix of solos and vocal harmonies. This is an incredibly talented group of musicians.

I highly recommend this album. If you enjoyed FFHs debut album, then youll probably love this one even more.
