Arnie Armstrong has resigned as pastor of Kelstern (Sask.) Community Church, effective the end of July, after serving six-and-a-half years. He will be teaching at Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, Sask. Previously, he was an associate pastor for four years at Kamloops (B.C.) Alliance Church and was a church planter for five years with the Alliance church in Kamloops. He has a B.A. from Prairie Bible College and an M.A. from Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina. He and his wife Sharon have two sons, Joshua, 16, and Caleb, 15.
Chester Wiebe has been hired as associate/youth pastor at Grand Forks (B.C.) Gospel Chapel, effective in July. Previously, he was youth pastor for six years at Rosthern (Sask.) Mennonite Church, was camp director for one summer at Madge Lake Bible Camp in Saskatchewan and was a mountain bike instructor for one summer at Pioneer Lodge, Sundre, Alta. He has a Bachelor of Christian Ministries degree from Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask., and is working towards an M.Div. from Briercrest Biblical Seminary, Caronport, Sask. He and his wife Charlene have two children, Lauren, 8, and Nickolas, 4.
Darla Faulkner has been serving in the area of childrens church at Cariboo Bethel Church in Williams Lake, B.C. Her ministry, partially funded through the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program, began in May 1999 and will conclude in August 2000. She has a B.A. from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C.
Norbert Bargen has been appointed principal of Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg, beginning with the upcoming school year. Most recently, he taught at Mennonite Educational Institute in Abbotsford, B.C. Previously, he was athletic director and an instructor at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, was executive director of Camp Evergreen in Sundre, Alta. and was a teacher/acting vice-principal in Fort McMurray, Alta. He has a B.A., B.Ed. and B.R.S., and recently obtained an M.Ed. from the University of Victoria. He is a graduate of MBCI. He and his wife Elly have three children, Cory, Tyler and Tiffany.
Thirty-nine people participated in orientation at Mennonite Central Committee headquarters in Akron, Pa., May 2-12. Fifteen are beginning overseas assignments, and 24 are beginning assignments in North America.

Ken Kruger of Saskatoon is beginning a one-year assignment as manager of an MCC Thrift Shop in Saskatoon. He has a masters degree in historical theology from Briercrest Biblical Seminary in Caronport, Sask. He and his wife Darlene have three children, Jill, Karen and Brent. They are members of Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon. Peter and Lilli Penner of Detmold, Germany are beginning a two-year assignment in Winnipeg. Lilli will work as a child care worker, and Peter will work with Winnipeg Harvest. They are currently attending an MB church in Winnipeg.
