Previous | Next Fresno, Calif. Invitation extended to join Team 2000

The call of Christ to reach all people groups, found in Matthew 28:19-20, has taken a unique form over the past year. A new mission venture, Team 2000, has risen out of the desire of six young adults to commit at least 10 years to the people of Thailand. The team is now challenging others to work alongside them.

Andy and Carmen Owen, Ricky Sanchez and Karen Huebert Sanchez, and David and Louise Sinclair-Peters will officially come together in July 2000. They will spend six months in team building, cross-cultural ministry training and church visitation, including travel to British Columbia, California, Kansas and Manitoba.

The team is preparing to go to Thailand in January 2001. The six members are looking for individuals and churches in North America to join the team.

Says team member Karen Huebert Sanchez, “We are looking for 2000 people who will join us in bringing the saving power of Christ to Thailand through ongoing prayer, friendship and financial support.”

Team 2000 will include single individuals and groups of individuals from churches. People with a vision for a relationship with the missionaries are encouraged to pledge their ongoing involvement using the Team 2000 Commitment Card, available through MBMS International or on the Team 2000 Web site, www.mbmsinternational.org/Team2000.
