Rudie and Louise Willms are retiring as senior pastor couple at Scott Street MB Church in St. Catharines, Ont. at the end of July, after serving for five years. Previously, they pastored for six years at Salem MB Church (a church plant) in Winnipeg, for 14 years at East Aldergrove MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. and for 11 years at Culloden MB Church in Vancouver. They began their ministry in 1960 with city mission and radio work with the Gospel Light Hour, the predecessor of MB Communications/Family Life Network in Winnipeg. They have three sons and 10 grandchildren. The Willmses are moving back to Abbotsford and are open to part-time ministry.



Bill McGinness has been serving a one-year pastoral internship, ministering to youth at River of Life Community Church in Sorrento, B.C., since Jan. 1 as part of the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program. Previously, he was moderator of the church and has worked with the youth in the church and community. He was a recruiter for the US Navy for a few years. He has a college degree, and has taken courses at Associated Canadian Theological Schools (ACTS), Langley, B.C. He and his wife Oralia have two children, Alyssa, 9, and Jesse, 7.



Tulpengasse MB Church in Vienna, Austria is celebrating its 30th anniversary in June. The Mennonite church in Vienna, a daughter church of the Tulpengasse Church, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in June. Abe and Irene Neufeld were church planters in Austria in the 1970s and 1980s and will be celebrating with them.



Mark Johnson began serving as part-time co-pastor of Sayward (B.C.) Christian Fellowship on Jan. 1. He also is a horse logger and house framer. He is co-pastoring with Bob Ferguson. Previously, Johnson served as a missionary for three-and-a-half years in the Philippines with Overseas Missionary Fellowship. He has a diploma in missions from Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alta. He and his wife Beth have three children, Arlana, 18, Reuben, 16, and Lael, 10.

Paul Fast became interim pastor of Lake Errock (B.C.) Community Church on May 1. He taught elementary and high school for 15 years; taught at Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask. for two years; and pastored South Langley MB Church, Langley, B.C. for nine-and-a-half years, North Langley Community Church for seven years and Murrayville Community Church, Langley, for four years. Most recently, he served as interim pastor at Fleetwood Community Church, Surrey, B.C. for nine-and-a-half months and helped with Northside Community Church, Mission, B.C. for four months. He has a B.Th. from MB Bible College, a B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University and an M.A. from MB Biblical Seminary. He and his wife Betty have three grown children.



Alfred Hildebrand is retiring as administrator of Pinegrove Place in Richmond, B.C., after serving for 17 years. He was the first administrator of the 75-bed home, which is owned and operated by Mennonite Intermediate Care Home Society of Richmond. Gordon Milner of Richmond has been appointed as the new administrator of the care facility. He is a chartered accountant and has administrative experience as a comptroller and in other executive positions. He is also an active church member, serving as an elder and chair of his church’s board of managers.



On Jan. 1, Jeremy Konrad began serving a one-year pastoral internship at Grace MB Church in Penticton, B.C. through the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program. He is ministering in the areas of youth and leading “The Well”, a Saturday seeker service. Previously, he served an eight-month pastoral internship in Christian education at Clearbrook MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. He studied for two years at Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask., and has a B.R.E. from Alberta Bible College. His home church is East Aldergrove MB Church, Abbotsford.



Tim Carson completed his ministry as youth pastor at Discovery Community Church in Campbell River, B.C. on March 31, after serving for four years. He is planning to study full-time at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C. and then move on to seminary, probably at ACTS in Langley, B.C. Previously, he worked for two years in the security business in B.C.’s Lower Mainland and in Campbell River. His wife Marika is a nurse with MCC Supportive Care Services. The Carsons have a son, Matthew, 15 months.
