REFLECTIONS
Light to live by

Norman Fehr

John 8:12, I John 1:5

As I watched TV last night, I was amused at one of the ads for travel: “In Malaysia, you can even golf by night.” The ad showed big lights on high poles.

The ad caused me to remember the first electric light bulb we had in our dorm in Hepburn, Saskatchewan – one little bulb for the whole room. Now they are advertising enough light to golf by night.

There are always new and better lights, but the ultimate light is God. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). The darkness can never overcome this light because God Himself is light (I John 1:5).

Reflections is a column of brief reflections on Scripture passages. This one is by Norman Fehr of Armstrong, B.C. Freelance submissions (200-250 words in length) are welcome.
